CKS Kindergarten Readiness 2016-2017

Welcome Nestling Families! We are a Kindergarten Readiness classroom here at CKS (formerly know as the Bridge Room).  What does this mean?  This means we work with your child(ren) on the important skills needed to succeed in their later schooling.  Our emphasis is on social/emotional growth, self-help skills, executive functioning skills and overall learning how to best behave in a school environment!
Ms. Kimberly and I have been a team here at CKS for almost 5 years now!  We love this age group and delight in watching your children learn and grow each day.  We look forward to meeting you and your children at our open house on August 29th.

A quick look into our classroom!

Below please find the supply list for our classroom:

For your child's Art Box:

·         1 small pack of 8 crayons (Crayola strongly preferred!)

·         1 box of Crayola 10 Classic Colors Markers

·         1 set of basic watercolor paints with paintbrush

·         1 glue stick

·         1 small bottle of glue

1 1" 3 ring binder with child's name on it (marker or tape works or you can personalize it any way you want!)

1 Bed roll- We will be working on self help skills and these are great for self sufficient rest set up and clean up! Examples of what I'm talking about can be found here: To buy or to make.  They should have the pillow, blanket and rest area all-in-one.  Please also have a strap so they can be hung from hooks.

1 roll of paper towels

1 package Clorox or Lysol Wipes

Please also note that our class does wear the uniform, so be sure to check out the uniform closet and/or order your uniforms! :)

If you have any questions over the summer, please feel free to contact me at

Warmest regards,
Shannon Zachary
